It gives me immense pleasure to write this message as Chairman “Latif Foundation Trust” and head of organizing board of Latif Foundation School Latif Abad Islamabad. Latif Foundation School has been established since 2006. Soon after its acknowledgement the organizing committee resolved to initiate an excellent educational institute for the deprived families of the area. All the funds were graciously contributed by Latif Brothers and the school was launched in October 2006. Today, LFS is one of the leading and most sought after secondary school in outskirts of the capital city of the country. The school has been specifically designed for the orphans and under privileged class of the society, the most neglected segment of the community. Our vision is to “Educate, Enlighten and empower this neglected section of the society by imparting and equipping these children with best possible modern contemporary and Islamic education under a conducive and supportive environment free from financial burden and monetary pressure.

The school which had a humble beginning in 2006 today has got more than 800 students and 90 staff members on the roll. As we complete 15 years of human service, what comes to my mind is that –“Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those, who don’t rest on the laurels of the past”. We live today in a world that is so very different from the one we grew up in, the one we were educated in. The world today is changing at such an accelerated rate and we as educators need to pause and reflect on this system of education. By the grace of Allah Almighty our school is well equipped to prepare our children to face the challenges that the future holds. The future challenges are factors that motivate us to go through a continuous process of improvement and hence we at LFS work at implementing a well-balanced curriculum to ensure that children who walk into the portals of our school will not just love their school years but truly be prepared to face the life’s challenges.

MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

2018 was a year of observation, assessment, reflection and learning. The School Board has contributed to the decision making process and once again played an active and integral part in the school decision making process. Our three year work Plan is now completed with a number of successful outcomes

  1. Explicit methodology is embedded across the school and a whole school approach to teaching literacy and numeracy is proving to be successful in terms of student progress and achievement.

  2. The coordination between the school and the board of trustees has resulted in Cent percent results in Matriculation exams of Rawalpindi Board, also because of the joint efforts of the teachers, students and the parents.

  3. The School Board meets twice per annum and operates within a Terms of Reference. All members are fully determined and focused as a whole on the student and faculty members’ performance with the improvement as our prime goal.

It is indeed a pleasure to be an integral member of such a vigorous and progressive foundation and I thank everyone for their continuous support of the school.

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL

It is with great pleasure that I present Latif Foundation School’s Annual Report for 2018-19. We have spent the year focusing on our identified priority areas, consolidating our relationships and networks with parents and the broader community, and responding to the needs for the school which were identified through our constant contact with the community. I continue to be incredibly proud to be Principal of this great school and so privileged to meet and work with so many wonderful students, staff and community members.

Each year we are guided by our work Plan and we continue our strong commitment to offering quality teaching and learning which draws on pedagogical practice that is data informed and evidenced based and aligned to the national Curriculum.

The Annual Report shows you how we are progressing and developing as a school. It outlines what we have achieved, how well we are going and what we need to focus on next to continually improve the educational programs and services for students in our community. The report also provides some assurance about the way resources have been used to provide the very best quality teaching and learning environments for your children.
